Background Information

History

In 1993, Patricia Beatty and Rose Canfield, (Pat and Rose, hence PNR) were working for the Ovens and King Valley Community Health Service as Community Health Nurses, and saw a need to provide a home based nursing service to clients in the community. Both Pat and Rose had a combined nursing experience of over 30 years.

They set up a business in Yackandandah in the North East of Victoria, providing nursing care to clients in their own homes.

From this beginning, the business has expanded into providing services to Community Based organisations and local Area Health Services.

As a Home Based Nursing Service, the opportunity to provide agency nurses to hospitals was evident. Employing nursing staff enabled the business to be in a position to have a pool of nursing staff available to hospitals.

A private company was formed in 1999. Patricia Beatty is now the sole director of the company.

Current

The restructure of PNR over the past 18 months, which has included a Board of Management and creation of new roles, including Business Operations Manager and Human Resources, has seen the business place even greater importance on the level of care we are offering one and all. (staff, client and organisations).

In 2006, a Board of Management was established. Current members of the Board include:
  • Pat Beatty — Managing Director
  • Keith Beatty — Chairperson
  • Garry Leonard — Board Member
  • Adrian Beatty — Board Member

In terms of the structure of the organisation, we work to the following:

PNR provides a Home Care Service to the Hume Region of Victoria, and the Southern Riverina of NSW. PNR employs over 250 people through out this region as Attendant Carers.

PNR is a provider to the Department of Human Services and holds funding for Home First and Support and Choice packages.

PNR is a provider for TAC and The Victorian WorkCover Authority, as well as brokerages services such as Community Support-North East, The Villa Maria Society and Community Interlink. Post Acute Care Programs in the Hume Region of Victoria purchase services from PNR. Private clients also request services from PNR.

PNR also provides nurses and allied health staff to several local hospitals in the north east of Victoria and southern NSW.

Our experience in staff replacement enable us to state with confidence that we can provide a prompt and professional service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
